Ruffles have decorated the clothing worn in some of the happiest and simplest times of my life growing up. 

 

I wore a special white dress full of ruffles when I visited my great grandparents house in the Philippines. On the same trip I got to experience a Philippine beach for the first time. Ruffles remind me of the waves, and the many shells I collected by the shore.
